Artistic Director
姚勇老師畢業於北京舞蹈學院，1984年被該校聘為講師及舞蹈編導，他的作品曾多次得獎。1991年來到灣區即加入飛揚藝術團擔任藝術總監。他也曾在DeAnza College 和 San Jose Dance Theatre 客座教學。1993年得到聖他克拉縣藝術理事會的編導獎勵。姚老師的作品《黃河》在1994年被列為二十世紀中國經典作品，此獎乃是頒給中國當代藝術家的最高殊榮。他的近作《二泉映月》《太平天鼓》及《神龍千禧》在飛揚藝術節中首演，博得各界的好評。姚老師與聖荷西芭蕾舞團的藝術總監Dennis Nahat共同編導了《神哉中華》舞劇，在2005年二月首映，由飛揚藝術團與聖荷西芭蕾舞團聯合演出。又於2006年為聖荷西芭蕾舞團用西方芭蕾舞形式編導了全新的《二泉映月》。
Mr. Yao is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, and instructor from Beijing Dance Academy. His works includes modern, classical and regional folk styles, which garnered many awards in dance competitions. Mr. Yao joined Chinese Performing Artists of America as Artistic Director in 1991. The Arts Council of Santa Clara County awarded him a choreography fellowship in 1993. Mr. Yao has also taught several master classes of Chinese dance at De Anza College and San Jose Dance Theater. In 1994, Mr. Yao's Yellow River Suite was voted one of "20th Century Masterpieces by Chinese Dancers" in China. Mr. Yao is listed in Who's Who of Contemporary China. Mr. Yao and Dennis Nahat, Artistic Director of Silicon Valley Ballet San Jose, jointly choreographed a full length dance drama "Middle Kingdom Ancient China", was premiered in February of 2005. Mr. Yao also choreographed "Moon Reflection on Crystal Spring" for Silicon Valley Ballet San Jose in April of 2006.
Chinese Folk Dance Master Teacher
王關姍老師1984年以優異成績畢業於北京舞蹈學院教育系，留校任民間舞講師。同年代表中國赴香港參加國際藝術節。之後又代表中國赴星加玻為參加亞洲舞蹈營的中國學員講授中國舞，並被派往香港演藝學院講學一年。1991年代表香港演藝學院參加世界各國舞蹈學院在菲律賓舉行的藝術節。王老師的藝術成就被收入哈爾濱出版社出版的"哈爾濱之最"一書。1992年來到美國至今一直從事舞蹈教育工作。1994年被列入北京大學中國名人叢書編委會編輯出版的“中國當代文藝名人辭典”。
As a lecturer of dance at the Beijing Dance Academy, where she graduated with honors, Ms. Wang trained many professional dancers and dance teachers. She went on to win the honor of Excellent Teacher. Ms. Wang was assigned to teach Chinese folk dance at the Performing Arts Academy of Hong Kong, she also represented China and the Academy attending Performing Festivals held in Singapore and Philippines. Her name was listed in the 1994 edition of Dictionary of Chinese Contemporary Hall of Fame for Literature and Arts published by the Beijing University.
Ballet Master Teacher
史芝萍老師以優異的成績畢業於北京舞蹈學院芭蕾舞專業，曾是上海芭蕾舞團主要演員，中國舞蹈家協會會員。史老師曾多次在國內舞蹈比賽中獲獎，並出訪加拿大、紐西蘭、新加坡、香港等地表演，受到高度贊譽。後來美深造就讀於 Martha Graham 現代舞學校，因其成績優異而得到嘉獎，多次收到美國芭蕾舞團之邀與其合作演出，並在紐約舞蹈學校任教芭蕾。1997年移居灣區，任教於姚勇舞蹈學院，並也曾在漢雲藝林教授芭蕾舞課程。
Graduated with honor from Beijing Dance Academy, Ms. Shi joined Shanghai Ballet as Principal Dancer. She received numerous dance competition awards in China and toured Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, and HongKong. She also studied at Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, and performed with various ballet companies in the states. She moved to the Bay Area in 1997, taught at YaoYong Dance, as well as Cirrus Dance and Arts.
Martial Arts Instructor
劉興久老師畢業于北京舞蹈學院編導系。他曾在瀋陽歌舞團擔任了三十年的編導及主要演員。他是中國國家一級演員。劉老師曾獲得中央文化部舞台藝術最高獎文化大獎，及世界雜技藝術節巴黎市長金獎。他現在是飛揚藝術團的主要演員。
Mr. Liu received his degree in choreography from Beijing Dance Academy. He was the principal dancer, choreographer, and instructor at ShenYang Dance Troupe for almost 30 years. He is a nationally ranked first class dancer of China. Mr. Liu has won numerous awards including the highest honor for individual performing artist awarded by the Ministry of Culture of China. He is listed in Who’s Who of Contemporary China.
Chinese Dance Instructor
李淑霞老師畢業於北京舞蹈學院，曾是中央歌舞團的主要演員。多次在全國性舞蹈比賽中獲獎，並隨中央歌舞團出訪過二十多個國家，是國家一級演員。在表演之餘，李老師在許多國內藝術機構授課。她並得到國家領導人親自頒發的“天山獎”。
Ms. Lee graduated from Beijing Dance Academy, she was the principal dancer at Central Dance Troup. She has won numerous awards in many national dance competitions. She toured more than twenty countries with the Central Dance Troup. In addition to performing, Ms. Lee also taught in many art institute. She is a nationally ranked first class dancer of China, she also received the "Tian Shan Award" from Chinese political leader Wang Zheng.
Ballet and Chinese Dance Instructor
王真珍四歲開始學舞，十一歲從師姚勇。加州柏克萊大學舞蹈系畢業。曾是柏克萊大學舞團及飛揚藝術團的主要演員。並在美國現代舞團裏擔任主要角色。
Pearl began her dance training at the age of four, attended Joffrey Ballet intensive training at the age of 10. She graduated in 2003 from UC Berkeley with a BA in Dance and Performance Studies. She was a principal dancer for the Bay Area Repertory Dance Company where she performed in works such as Paul Taylor’s Esplanade, and Jose Limon’s A Choreographic Offering. In May 2002, Pearl was selected to perform a leading role in Benjamin Levy’s "pOrtal" at the National College Dance Festival held at the Kennedy Center.
Wugong Techniques Instructor
瀋陽京劇學校畢業，關一生長於京劇世家。她是中國國家級演員。她在京劇中能文能武，更有一不同凡響的金嗓。她曾至多國演出，並在許多國際比賽中得獎。
Graduated from Shenyang Peking Opera School, Ms. Guan is born to a Peking Opera family. She is a certified national ranked performer of China. She is capable of performing both musical and martial roles. Ms. Guan has toured all around the world. She has received many awards from national and international contests.
Wugong Techniques Instructor
瀋陽京劇學校畢業，張英超特長於花臉及武丑。她是中國國家級演員。他曾在無數比賽中得獎，他的舞功的技巧、速度、姿勢及翻滾，均得到好評。他曾至各國演出，尤其在香港最受歡迎。
Graduated from Shenyang Peking Opera School, Mr. Zhang specializes in the Painted Face and Martial Clown roles. He is a certified national rank performer of China. He is repeatedly awarded for his breathtaking acrobatic skills in contests of all levels, characterized with agility, swiftness, excellent posturing, and tumbling feats. Mr. Zhang has toured the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, and is particularly popular in Hong Kong.
Ballet and Chinese Dance Instructor
楊敬婷四歲開始學舞，加州大學洛杉磯分校畢業。現在是幼稚園老師，並教芭蕾舞及中國舞。
Katie first started dancing when she was four years old, she attended American Ballet Theatre intensive training program at seventeen. She has received extensive training in ballet and Chinese dance. Katie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UCLA, with a minor in Child Development. She is currently a preschool teacher as well as a ballet and Chinese dance teacher.
Wushu Instructor
上海市體育運動技術學院武術系畢業，曾獲得1990年上海精武國際武術邀請賽單項五項第一及全能第一，並在1991年全國武術錦標賽得到“武英級”運動員稱號。她並且在1991年至1993年在美國 Ringling Brothers Circus 擔任演員。
Graduated from Shanghai Athletic Technology Academy, majoring in Wushu, Yun- Yin received the gold medal in 1990 Shanghai Wushu competition in five individual events and in all around. She was also named the best athlete in 1991 Chinese national Wushu competition. She performed with Ringling Brothers Circus from 1991 to 1993.
HipHop Instructor
Lauren has been studying many forms of dance such as jazz, tap, ballet, and lyrical, with a focus on hip-hop. Lauren started teaching dance for Nena Dean at the age of 16, and is currently teaching at seven Bay Area studios. Lauren has been in three music videos, and was the principal tap dancer in the musical “A Woman, A Gift.” She has attended Debbie Allen’s tap intensive and hiphop intensive training. Lauren is currently a company dancer for Funkanometry SF.
Hip-Hop Instructor
Jovver Fortuno began his dancing career at the age of 17. Joining dance teams and dance companies such as Versatyle Styles Dance team, Khamai Dance Company, and Funkanometry SF Dance company. Earning such titles as former Artistic Director for Versatyle styles, former Assistant Artistic Director and Company Class Coordinator for Funks SF. Jovver has done work with The Black Eyed Peas, ABS-CBN's A.S.A.P Show, Kim Del Fierro, and Van Son entertainment to name a few. As rewarding as dance has been to Jovver, he only wishes to share the experience through teaching what he has learned.
